Welcome to our School
Hello Parents and Families of Brighter Choice Community School!
It is with great pleasure and anticipation that I introduce myself to you, My name is Deittra Wilder, and I have the honor of being your Parent Teacher Coordinator! As Parent Teacher Coordinator and a BCCS parent, I am committed to not only being a facilitator between the BCCS Administration, Staff, PTA, and families at large, but also an active member of our BCCS community. I see my roles as Parent and Parent Teacher Coordinator as mutually exclusive, and mutually beneficial to one another simultaneously.
My goals for this academic year include expanding on the impressive network of active parents to assure that we all work together to build an even stronger BCCS partnership that supports each of our children’s academic success and emotional development. BCCS is a home away from home where our children are educated, and where we as Administrators, Parents, Families, and Guardians are the gate keepers to the success of that education. I firmly believe that families thrive and feel a connection to a community when each member can positively contribute in our own special ways.
I look forward to working with each of you! I want everyone to always feel free to contact me. Let’s commit as the community and family I know that we are. Let’s show and tell the world our best kept secret in Brooklyn. We are Bedford-Stuyvesant’s #1 school choice, and we love Brighter Choice Community School!

The applications for both the Pre-K and Kindergarten Dual-Language programs are a part of the standard Department of Education's city-wide process. After Round 1 offers are made and in-school registration begins, DL testing, lottery and offers will follow.

Open House Tours
BCCS hosts monthly Open Houses each year so prospective families can visit the school and learn about our approach and our community first-hand. Each Open House includes a tour and begins in the library. An Open House lasts approximately one hour. Parents do not need to register for an Open House but it is recommended.
